Go woman Go drive

Hello pals

One of the greatest peacemakers, a true Good Samaritan has left the mortal coil recently. Here's paying Nelson Mandela heartfelt tributes. May his soul rest in peace and may his ideals continue to inspire the world.

Coming to today's post, it's been sitting on my drafts for a while. I couldn't take time to post this....in case some of the content appears a little dated, please note the reason above.

Go Woman Go Drive
I am amazed at the no. of hits that the video “No Woman, No Drive” has garnered in less than a week of its release on YouTube. I thought the video was very grose mainly for its content. The man who performed in the video is Hisham Fageeh, a comedian from Saudi Arabia and said his intention behind the video was just to entertain. Well, it might be for entertainment but the lyrics were undoubtedly reflecting the true scenario and of course seem offensive towards women. I know given the society norms in Arab countries, it might not be sleazy for a manto demean the women as things which can produce babies. However, for rest of the world it is indeed awkward. I don’t know if it is a curse to be born as a woman in those countries which ill-treat woman and deny their basic rights. India has slightly progressed in this matter but still there are countless villages/small towns which adhere to superstitions that treat woman as a programmed robot to work on instructions. No matter how many laws the government makes, the sad plight of these women hasn’t changed much. Needless to say the culture in Arabian countries is much more critical in this matter. As we know, many other nations with strong influence of the Taliban culture do evoke crude and sometimes dangerous rules against the woman who tend to break the barriers of the stupid superstitions.
Yet there are women who have raised above all the odds, a special mention is to be made about the incredible fighter spirit Malala Yousafzai. This 15 year old captured the world’s attention by standing up for her basic rights against the cruelly powerful Taliban. As we all know she survived one of the worst attacks by the Taliban. The speech she gave at the UN post recovery is one of the best I’ve heard recently. She strongly voiced her rights and entire world was touched, moved and inspired by her attitude. One on end of the world, we have women going to the space, trekking highest peaks, swimming across deepest channelsleading most powerful political and corporate positions., i.e. doing the most difficult jobs that were once designed for men only. On the other end we see the superstitious and mindless rules restricting women to step out of the cocoons. As Malala said it is their insecurity that drives them to behave so cruelly against women. If women are empowered, they cannot stop the progress and they will perhaps no longer hold the power to dictate rules. A journalist who interviewed Malala’s classmates was startled to know what those girls aim for. One of them wants to be an Army chiefanother wants to be an astronaut, and another a fighter jet pilot. None of them seem to be deterred by the dangerous attack on their friend. They were clear in mind and strong to stand up for their rights. It is indeed surprising to see the unshaken spirits of those 15 year olds. As for ages, we have been nurtured to believe that women are weaker sex and they cannot do everything that a man can do.
Another example to quote; there was recent news about the women of Mallila (happens to be a border town between Spanish enclave and Morocco). Apparently, they are called ‘mule women’ as they carry heavy loads weighing up to 60kgson their backs. Most of them are single women who divorced their partners against domestic violence, and working very hard to feed their children. While many would pity their plight, I think it shows the resilience of those women to not give up and proves how strong women can be physically. Another inspiring and powerful example; an entire continent lauds this woman for her contributions. She is Germany’s chancellor, former scientist Angela Merkel. She has been meticulously working to revive theEuropean financial crisis. She also chaired the G8 summit in 2007 and has been instrumental for negotiation of Treaty of Lisbon. She is definitely another Iron lady in making. Recently, she dared to challenge the world’s powerful nation’s spying policies and sent her best men to USA to delegate talks about the same. Coming back to India, our very own young and dynamic IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal braved her way to enforce strict rules against the sand mafia in UP.  Thereafter she was suspended and charge sheeted for doing her duty by the UP government and later revoked the suspension. Coming to the story of a 14year old tribal girl named Nirmala who is famously known as the Tarzan lady in Orissa and Jharkhand states as she saved the villages from the wild elephants in many instances. She was known to converse and convince the elephants to go back to the wild whenever they invade the villages and towns around the forest. When so many forest officials and the technology couldn’t help, this little lady stands up bravely and works her magic. Isn’t it astonishing? And bear in mind that she hails from a tribal family putting our clichéd assumptions about tribes to shame.
I can keep quoting many such marvelous examples from recent times about the wonderful women who have crossed barriers, faced harsh criticism and sometimes overcame deadly circumstances to show the world what they are capable of. And finally on the eve of Diwali, how can I miss a mention about the heroic lady ‘Sathyabhama’ from our mythology who fought the demon Narakasura when her husband Lord Sri Krishna fell unconscious during the war. She was known for her attitude and valour. May the women folk be blessed by this God lady and stay inspired from her story. Goddess speed us. Go Woman! Go drive the world!!!

P.S: I am a feminist

Quest for the perfect job

It’s been almost 4 months since I was out of this space…I have been on a roller coaster ride that life keeps giving us all once in a while. I am not sure if I am off this ride yet or there are more miles to go. As of now the ride is not bumpy… that’s all I can say and that should explain why I have been out of this space.

Off late I have been spending time reading and writing on this question and answer forum called Quora.com (of course, whenever am free at work). There is a lot to learn there and a lot more to explore. Check it out readers.

Alright, diving into the post, the title should have conveyed what I am going to write about. Did you know if there is a perfect job that exists at all in this world? How many times have you heard people saying ‘Ohh I am doing the perfect job in the world’? Or how many times have you said that to yourself? I am sure that is not very common.
What defines a perfect job? A big fat pay check, or flabbergasting work environment or a very supportive team, or a very friendly boss, or mind blowing benefits or working on your passion? A mixture of all these may be the recipe for an ideal job. However, how often do we find a concoction of all these elements? If not all, at least couple of them?

We have been said and read that a person is very fortunate to find a job that is his/her passion and get paid for the same. Well, I may have to rephrase that to suit to our current scenario...because it depends on the individual on what he/she chooses. What you chose is what you get. Working in an IT company and mourning about a media career that you missed is mere waste. In today’s age, you have to choose what you really want. But does it end there? Choosing is not merely enough according to me. Keeping up what you chose in spite of all the odds is the real challenge. Well, there will be instances when we start thinking if it is worth all the pain? That is something one has to decide as soon as possible. As one keeps pondering over that thought, the time invested on that job would go useless. A recent survey in the BBC magazine said that the companies prefer those uninterested people quitting as soon as possible if they think they or the company requirements are a misfit. The sooner you decide, the more you save for yourself and the company.
Another BBC article says, it’s not fat pay check or great work that keeps an employee hooked to any particular company but the treatment one gets. Employees prefer to leave those places which ill-treat/ do not give the respect they deserve than those who do not pay them well. Surprisingly most percentage of surveyed people have agreed to the same.
Consider those places, where you hardly do any productive work or work that is not so competent in nature. Have you ever experienced or imagined such situations? They can make your career miserable. Any career oriented person would not enjoy such work environment where there won’t be enough food for soul.

Not to forget, perseverance is what is required in overcoming monotony and routine that springs out of any job that you have been doing for a while. Otherwise it is easy to lose out in the competition. The hare and rabbit race is the best relevant story that comes to my mind. It may not be important how quick learner you are and how ambitious you are but it is very important that how consistent you are. The young clan is too impatient to hold on to one job for a lifetime. They seek change and challenge more often. It takes incredible amount of patience to sustain the lows in order to excel in any field. I always think the perseverance and endurance levels have been diminishing with time. The patience to endure difficult times was far better in our older generations. They always craved for excellence while given the rat race we have to run today, we are unable to get beyond mediocrity.

Let me quote my own experience here. Ever since I started working, I  always looked for challenging work, not the sort of challenging work that we mention for namesake in the CVs, but real work that requires a brain drain and at the end of the day that which would give me ultimate job satisfaction. I honestly believe this term ‘job satisfaction’ is the key to any ‘perfect job’. My mom always quoted this. Over 35 years of service, she had innumerable moments of job satisfaction, which I think is quite fulfilling. Her job was to teach. Whenever she had her students excel in exams or in life and come back to acknowledge how prominent her role was, she felt extremely gratified. When she wasn’t able to deliver her best, I could notice the disappointment on her face. I never thought it would be so bothering. I ruled her out that she was taking things way too seriously until I got to the point where I experience the similar feelings and couldn’t get it out of my head. Fortunately, I worked with an excellent team at my first job in USA. Little did I know then, all jobs wouldn’t be same. When I moved back to India, it was quite feat for me to find the right place. The work culture is certainly far behind ages than that of the West. Transparency lacks in most situations. Managers seem to be overdosed with egos. One cannot help but sometimes give up to the whims of an arrogant manager or quit the place. Most of the times, even though you have a better solution to a problem, you shouldn’t dare to express your thoughts against the manager’s. Either you have to wait on him to give the solution or zip your lips. The hierarchy is strictly adhered in terms of authority more than responsibility. I heard from my friends working in IT that it is more liberal and has adapted the global work culture whereas in core fields unfortunately, it is not yet there. Fingers crossed and anticipating a positive change.

Concluding the saga of a perfect job, all I can say is perfect job is to work on your passion, no matter you are earning millions or not you will enjoy an invaluable pleasure doing it. May be I should quote this Telugu movie here where the protagonist doesn’t find the challenge in any of the jobs he does, and so goes on robbing the rich like a Robin hood and gives away to the sick kids seeking medical aid which he says is satisfying. Am not suggesting you to find illegal ways but opt for something that satisfies your soul which indeed would become a ‘perfect job’

Divide & Rule

So much has been said and written about A.P state bifurcation and now the doomsday has finally arrived. To bluntly put it, this decision is nothing but a most selfish political motive of the Congress party. The demand for a separate state has been lingering for several years; however, Congress had always paid a deaf ear to the demands. This evidently shows that at the verge of 2014 elections, the party seems to have planned to grab the attention and interest of all the regions. Congress party seems to be hugely inspired by the British ruling motto “Divide and Rule”. Because, the party is too insecure about its future in the coming elections. Even if they would explain this decision is to respect and response to the demand by the people of Telangana region, it is nothing but a gimmick to cover up. Had they had this interest and seriousness from the beginning, the division decision could have arrived much earlier. For so many years, they procrastinated by giving reasons for not being able to act immediately on this issue even after the riots and violent protests taking place across the T-region. They went on giving monotonous excuses that there has to be a consensus between the people of all regions and a decision that will not affect any region in future is to be taken which can happen only after careful and insightful considerations. Although the committees ordered for this particular task have suggested several different prospectives, the Congress party seems to stick to its own selfish political aspirations. If it was to follow suggestions by experts or by its own committee, this decision would not have been so late. Because, the decision is not something very new or different from what was been discussed and analyzed even by the most common man groups. May be the Congress feared, had they kept dragging the same indecisive answers till 2014, the T-region people may go in favor of another feudal party TRS (party men and policies behave and appear as feudalists). Now that they have announced what has been in demand for years, their political career might enjoy a long mileage in T-region. And, the MLAs and MPs who have been doing the ‘Jumping Japang’ feats will now shamelessly jump back to Congress…as they know that TRS’s future is going to be a dilemma. The TRS will of course have to struggle and make its mark either by finding another issue which can possibly trigger hatred/violence/emotions, or otherwise make negotiations to seek a refugee shelter under Congress. Just like a recent merge by another much hyped and talked party led by Mr. Chiranjeevi, TRS may also beat the mud very soon. But the TRS leaders have made the maximum out of the T-movement which would otherwise take ages for any normal political leader. If not for a political life, they could collectively start real estate dealings in a more authoritative tone. And in worst case, if TRS manages to win, it has been evident that the TRS leader KCR is fan of the Nizams (as stated by him that “Nizams were better than the people of Andhra”) and his ruling style might be inspired by theirs if given power. Have a feast T-people.
When it comes to the other two regions, Rayalaseema seems to be given least priority in voicing their opinion. The first of two reasons being that there are only 4 districts under this region and the second is the absence of a powerful leader like YSR. Although his son Jaganmohan Reddy forced his way to continue dynasty politics, his attempts will be highly unlikely to materialize given the fact that he had been accused and imprisoned for possessing illegal assets worth 100s of crores. But, his mother and sister seem to be putting in their best efforts to popularize their new flag and win the elections by hook or crook. However, the surveys are not in great favor of this new sympathy party, definitely not as much as they expected it to be. Even though they manage to win more seats, the party’s sole agenda seems to be nothing but coming to power. What or who or how or when are questions that can’t be posed to this party people as in nobody knows answers to any question. The only decision maker and breaker is none other than Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. Chances are that he might be ineligible to contest even if he manages to get out of the imprisonment as per the new Supreme Court ruling that any person convicted and imprisoned for 2 or more years will be ineligible to contest any election in the country. If this rule is passed, this party will fade out in no time as he is only reason for it to continue. So, chances of voicing out for rights of Rayalaseema region might be almost zero. Even though Mr. Naidu belongs to Rayalaseema region, he cannot be crusading in one region’s favor as his party is quite strong in coastal A.P region too. Just like other parties, Mr. Naidu has also been flipping cards when it comes to bifurcating T-region. His primary reasons for not strongly adhering to a decision could be the big-time investors and industrialists who have made Hyderabad as their prime business center and who have potentially been funding his party for ages. If he completely leans towards T-region’s bifurcation, he would definitely be in trouble waters in other two regions. As a man known for his visionary administration, he might definitely be against the bifurcation personally if not politically and publicly.
Coming to the Andhra region, it has been unanimously voicing for United AP. Nobody in this region except for the real estate agents would want a separate state. The repercussions are clearly understood by most people here…as they might have to be the victims of the direct implications. Both Congress and TDP hold neck to neck competition in this region… recently joined by YSR party, in few locations. Although the current situation seems volatile, the region may not carry any serious protests. All in all not even a single party is truly dedicated or serious with the intentions behind seeking a separate region except for the selfish political motives.
If development issues were the only concerns behind seeking a new state, would a separate state bring in the development that was not been brought in over several years?? When huge chunks of funds under the name of development packages were allotted, what happened to the development?? Was it all used up by one region alone?? Were these politicians who have to be instrumental in ensuring that those funds reach the appropriate region not alive then? Would they not be continuing in future because they failed to be productive?? That remains an unanswered question even to the staunchest supporters of a separate T-state. Be it unified or bifurcated, the state cannot see any sort of development as long as the power rests in the hands of a bunch of selfish and gruesome politicians who cannot even think of any developmental issues even in their wildest dreams. If this separation was only because the people of T-state were craving for carving out their own region, what about the interests of other states wherein certain regions have been sloganizing for a separate state?? Why are people of T-region alone so privileged to be obliged for their demands?? So after Telangana, will the Congress continue playing the splits game for rest of those regions under demand as well?? All these are questions and perhaps even more will be posed by people from the ‘common sense’ region. Although these questions might never be answered in all honesty, the Congress should start to retrospect as in why only political motives should be in the forefront when it comes to decision making. Being such a historic party and holding good stead in most states for many years, it could have concentrated on the developmental issues before heading for a spineless decision. Well, Congress is not alone in this category; all other parties too share a huge chunk. In the name of serving people, politicians have sabotaged the country’s fortune.  No decision is democratic, in one of the so called largest democracy; our democracy is just large in terms of numbers but not in substance.  God save India!!!

Life in Corporate Buzz

As a growing metro city, Bangalore has been the central hub for numerous foreign investors not only in IT infrastructure sector but also in real estate, retail and other sectors.  Consequent developments have enormously increased the crowds coming from different parts of the country to this city to find a career that can escalate their living standards. Besides climate being one of the primary reasons to migrate, the umpteen number of choices of foreign companies for career prospects are another major reason. The high rise glass façade fancy buildings, neatly trimmed landscapes, widened roads, international retails, A/C buses, branded cars, etc; is the outside picture of a so called corporate business parks and areas. And the areas housing these multi-national corporate companies are usually filled by the well-educated techie youth (80% of them) groomed and clad in swanky formals with geeky gadgets, identity tags (which have almost become part of the apparel), and puffed up rucksacks (for women it would be another added load of a vanity bag).
With so many educated and corporate cultured people around, things should really be organized and easy. Because, we have been said and taught that education is primary requirement to season and civilize any individual. But the scenario here seems absolutely otherwise. No matter how much educated people are and what sort of eminent positions they hold, they still prove that they are part of a chaotic Indian metro culture. In the assumption of living in Indo western fusion culture, most of them seem to live in a confused state with lost sense of morality and basic manners. But this inside chaos is hardly noticed.

The pandemonium begins right from using the public transport for commuting. For those who travel through public transport, my story wouldn't seem amusing at all. The crazy mobbing crowds at the door step when the bus halts isn't very new to us, and if the bus driver stops at 10 or 20 feet away from the designated bus stop, it’s even worse…the crowds get berserk in chasing the bus. This practice is still followed ritually. Real muscle strengths are at combat at the door step because, the one who is best at muscling away can get into the bus a few seconds earlier and can manage to grab a seat, this process may break glasses, and leave some bruises, unless you are lucky or too lethargic to rush or a bit dignified to snarl in. Then starts the cat fighting for seats, if one of them misses the close corner of the seat while adjusting to sit, he/she will be displaced in seconds. Meddling and careless hauling of the heavy bags (as I mentioned that 90% of them carry rucksacks) is very obvious of course. I always wonder what those heavy rucksacks would include apart from the slim laptops. Not sure if it is a crazy trend to carry two bags or a matter of convenience. I find it funny when people don’t take out their identity tags even after getting out of the office…as if their tags would give some concession in ticket or if that is considered as a matter of pride. Actual bustle starts when the conductors forces in to punch tickets. While most of the passengers plug in earphones and don’t care to take them out even when they have to ask for a ticket, the conductors seem to have mastered the sign language and lip reading to manage them. Sometimes, I find it so silly when some ladies show off their  urban dictionary communication that are usually not understood by the conductors. Finally, the drill to get out of the bus isn't an easy one again… one has to know how to thrust upon the inward forcing crowds to get out at right stop and should get prepared to be sandwiched in the process.

This uncourteous madness doesn't end there but continues almost everywhere including the insane washroom usage. Of course we Indians are known for unhygienic sanitation practices such as public urination and defecation, littering, spitting and what not. Sanitation experts believe that most uneducated masses are into unhygienic practices. Little do they know that these corporate citizens are no less. Just because they have learned to use the washrooms instead going public (there are shameless men who still spoil public places), it doesn't mean they are hygienic (including women). The habit of washing hands is still not there amongst many even after so many hand sanitizer adverts preaching its importance. The habit of appropriately disposing sanitary stuff is definitely not common. And ask a janitor about the laborious efforts she has to go through in sanitizing the washrooms especially with a bunch of careless females’ ignorant or arrogant washroom usages….one can’t help but feel sorry for the janitor.
Keeping the stinky affair aside, holding doors for the next person to come is mere common sense, which is too uncommon. The simple courtesies like ‘good morning’, ‘hi’,’ thanks’, ‘excuse me’, ‘sorry’ or a warm smile are most of the time ignored. It is often assumed that those words/acts are part of the receptionists/front office executive’s duty. Some corporate offices serve lunch wherein the first goers tend to grab most of the food leaving scraps to the rest…these anxious eaters seem to be totally unbothered about others. This is not taught or said but to be understood. And last but not the least the queue system is almost nonexistent in any case. Queue system seems to be too organized to be followed for our mad mobs.
For an outsider like me, yes I still feel am an outsider although it’s been more than a year that we moved to Bangalore. Right from my journey to workplace to residing in a gated community…most of the time I feel aloof.  I intentionally stay away sometimes. I take pride to say, I am much better in sticking to my dignity in most cases. Thanks to the missionary schools that I studied who have inculcated manners more than rewarding scores. And many thanks to the organized system abroad that bettered what I learnt.  These issues may be minute, may be minuscule, may be micro but definitely can’t be overlooked. A crowd that calls themselves as corporate citizens cannot afford to be so unorganized, ill-mannered and lacking in common sense. Not sure how other metro cities are coping. Just wishing the corporate start training manners and morals alongside the induction program.

Another Dirty Pciture

Apologies, Apologies....I have written in my previous post that I wanted to write more frequently and I was unable to keep up my word. I have a reason but that will not suffice. I guess I have to take Big B as inspiration when it comes to being systematically regular. If you never came across his blog...heres the link to read his daily journal. If you are lucky enough he might reply to your comment as well. Have a look. http://srbachchan.tumblr.com/

Smitha had become popular among all the movie (Indian) goers around the world only after the Dirty Picture than when she was actually acting in films. She was more a rage in south and the northern cinema hasn't known her even after her suicide. Credit goes to Ekta and Vidya for bringing her life to limelight. However her actual real life was far different from what was shown in the film. Smitha has been lesser known by this name. She was more famous for her raunchy screen tag 'Silk'. The dirty picture which was believed to be inspired from silk's reel and real life was only a part of the real picture.  Many do not know that the end of this sexy lady was also due to failed relationship but not just the screen failures. She was indeed in a success streak when she committed suicide. However, the real reasons will always be buried in these cases. It wouldn't be surprising to say that very few know that she was very benevolent and a secret philanthropist. The immense amounts that the producers poured for her raunchy moves on screen were diverted to orphanages that she supported with no publicity. I wish the Dirty Picture covered this part as well. Smitha aside, the same failed relationship and extreme stress was the case with Divya Bharathi, and there were rumours about a famous director who was believed to be behind her suicide case. Another failed relationship case.

Then comes the latest young lady Jiah, who committed suicide due to a failed relationship (as per the 6 page letter she wrote). While showbiz is not an easy industry to handle, the relationship maze is where most of the men/women fumble. Coping up with the break up seems like a cakewalk to many people in the showbiz as per the people who happily moved on and make new bfs/gfs within days of breakups. But there are also sensitive and possessive people who cannot take breakups and failures easily and move on, to such people, showbiz industry can be too cruel as the tabloids don't spare their stress. The stories and associated rumours can be more dangerous than the actual breakup. Even Jiah's death was attributed to her bumpy career in Bollywood before Pancholi's indirect involvement was revealed. This man who was behind her suicide was taken into custody and was even denied. While morally this act may seem right, there is another side of the story. The flip side can be exploited by every other girl or her parents who commits suicide in the name of failed relationship. If the letter is only clue which can imprison a guy, the so called weak minded or black minded girls might take this an advantage as well.

Poor Jiah who left her mortal coil would have undergone extreme stress as per the tearful letter she left to let the world know that her extremely turbulent relation was the major reason for committing suicide. However, it was all assumed that she was also weak to withstand the ups and downs of the career. The Dirty Picture shows an ambitious woman who aspired to ascend high levels in the film industry and who has been tempted to take routes that landed her in illicit relations and stressful life. But in Jiah's case she wasn't so craving for career in Bollywood nor she was crazy about her bumpy rides in Bollywood as per her letter. She was more worried and disturbed about her relation than anything in the world. This case clearly depicts that relations do play a big role in a human's life, just as a happy & cool relation can boost the spirits, a turbulent & infidel relation can completely destroy lives. Jiah's suicide is nothing but another side of Dirty Picture. Who knows if Smitha was also in a good relation, she would have not ended her life.

Think-Eat-Save

Its World Environmental Day - Theme of 2013 is Think-Eat-Save

This campaign about how to buy food responsibly, how not waste food, and how to recycle/compost your food waste to avoid the burden on solid waste management organisations.

1) Please do not buy food in excess. It is often observed that middle class and above buy food that is more than required and throw them without using as they get spoiled over a period of time.
2) Kids are to be taught not to waste food in their plate/lunch box. This is a very common habit among many kids who spill/waste/leave food which can grow into an irresponsible habit further.
3) Prepare your meal responsibly. Many a times, especially in our country food is prepared in excess, in case the maid doesn't turn up, all the excess ends in gutters.
4) Wedding meals are another part of huge tons of food waste that is generated everyday. The big fat Indian wedding waste can possibly feed some hundreds of hungry if managed responsibly. Read my musings here.
5) Food waste that is generated out of restaurants is no less to the above. The food that we order in excess is all thrown away in the gutters, instead get them packed and give it to hungry person by the road side.
6) Above all try to use a compost bin to decompose all the degradable kitchen waste.

This space beckons

Yessss....I feel like coming back to this space again and again...if you have noticed, I have been on a posting spree since last 2 weeks. If you wonder what is so special about this space???...to me this is a soul space! Can there be any better reason than this?
I always think of being very regular, like doing an everyday post like my many other blogger friends. And then I get lazy sometimes or too busy at times :P
But these days, therez so much that I want to vent out, talk it out and rant about, ask me what....hmm random things, some soul spoken lines, and sometimes frustration grrrrrrr.
Anyways, I want to try to be very regular, at least do 5 posts a week....is that too much?? I don't know at least until my inner self pacifies or gets tired, I may be doing so.
I was talking to a friend yesterday, and rarely I come across people who talk some thing above and beyond the generic stuff....and that's when my inner self starts rejoicing. We were talking about how to make it big in spite of all the odds around us. While that was just a discussion, the intentions behind were very very honest. Making it big doesn't necessarily be immense fame/name/status, it could also be something that can inspire at least a few others to be what they dream of to be in spite of the hardships that hurdle them.
I have been battling to do something that I always wanted to, but something else comes in my way....should I accept and move on or should I hang on with what I want to do is the biggest question that ponders in my mind always. The struggle that I go through with these thoughts inside is endless, until when...may be at least until I find a way to implement what I believed or I ignore everything and move on and survive.
Only a few of you can strike a chord when I say, I hate to do something that I don't believe in, just for the sake of money, status or any other such reason....its like choking my neck with my own scarf. Rest might say accepting and moving on is nothing but survival of the fittest. Well, that is a personal choice.
All I wanna do is write more often, and I hope my readers would enjoy reading my write-ups.

Cheers

Soring Celebrity Scandals

Films & Cricket are two biggest religions in India which can unite the nation and bind them in spite of many other differences in the nation. People involved with these two streams have been worshiped, adored, and followed crazily. Just as I wrote recently about a bratty young hero who has been involved in a public brawl, another who has been arrested for possessing illegal weapons., there are many others who were involved in one or other scandal in spite of having a huge responsibility to maintain a positive image in public. Just like film celebrities, even the cricketers do have major responsibility of carrying a positive image in public as most of them have been followed and liked by the youngsters of the nation. However, with the recent news of betting and spot fixing scandals coming into light, these folks seem like they care more for money and pleasures than for a career that can scale them up to greater heights. Doesn't it seem foolish to crave for something that is so temporary than a long term career that can bring more fame, name and riches in a positive way??
Many celebrities rule out saying that their off screen/ off field image is personal and shouldn't be scrutinized and judged. To those we can only say one thing....that is what you craved for and now you don't want the side effects of it is something like asking a rose without a thorn. What is important is how to maintain oneself in public and control their temporary cravings and emotions especially when so many people idolize them as role models. With the innumerable scandals coming out day by day, it is inevitable that these people will not enjoy the same celebrity status anymore. At the same time, the growing scandals can influence the youth in an other way too. There are people who still foolishly support their favourite people in spite of strong evidences against their involvement. This can have adverse influence on the youth sometimes.
Sachin Tendulkar can be quoted as a biggest example for modesty....he has been worshiped as God of cricket. Endorsements, business people, movie folks, politicians everybody surround him, but he always remained very meek and humble and was never in news for wrong reasons. More than his career, his own self was highly regarded by public.
Same goes with Superstar Rajinikanth, films which showcase him as a super human generated millions of fans across the globe. His humbleness and simplicity made him stand out of those film folks who throw crazy tantrums. If one thinks that films alone have brought him this immense fan base, it is nothing but ignorance. His off screen persona is what made him a bigger star and got most loyal fans across the world.

The movie makers should also bear this in mind while making films. The films these days hardly have any inspiring content...the no.of films which have real good content are very rare. While many film makers argue that feel good films don't work at box office, they have been proved wrong time and again with many films which were blockbusters for sheer reason of being different with the story line and/or narration techniques. The clear examples of such are recent flicks like Barfi, English Vinglish, The Dirty picture, Kahaani, Vicky Donor, Gangs of Wasseypur....in Bollywood. The so called regular formula films have been tasting mud since long time. Its time that they change and experiment. Like a famous film maker Singeetham Srinivas rao quoted "the chance of success for an experimental film is 50% always, while formula film is just 15-25%". Experimental films again need not be obscene just to lure viewers like some of them were tried so and fumbled in succeeding.
So its high time that these films makers and in fact whole film fraternity concentrate in delivering films with a bit of social responsibility than concentrating only on commercial aspects. Here after don't argue that films don't influence the society as it is evidently proved that youngsters in India are most influenced by films & cricket.
Similarly cricketers who have been hogging limelight for all wrong reasons, please bear in mind that, there are many aspiring cricket players who have tried their best to get into national team but their fortune wasn't as favouring as yours. Hence, you are so fortunate to get a place among the national team and you have literally crashed some body else's fortune if you are not there for the right reason anymore.
Film celebrities or Cricket celebrities.....If you can't think of the society which has escalated you to such position, you better don't run behind the fame that takes you there as you don't deserve such fame anymore.

cheers

I me myself

I, Me, Myself...please bear with me while I try to flaunt myself here....not so good at.

I say I am 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' though a very complicated word to spell and read, its still is an interesting one. Likewise, I am complicated on the core & shell but quite an interesting person to be with.
I love being with people but never get bored being alone. I am super talkative but never bore my listeners. Always up and active, an energizer indeed. I am fun loving person and I enjoy going out but don't mind staying home with my favourite hobbies or favourite people around.
I am impulsive and dynamic with a little bit of drama :D I also say I am 'clairvoyant', some experiences of mine allowed me to claim this name :D  I am a compulsive, impulsive shopaholic too. I love shopping, I enjoy it a lot.
Apart from shopping I have varied interests mostly in art, and very rarely in sports. When I say arts, I mean all the major forms, be it painting, music, dance, fashion, design, cooking, writing, crafts...list can go on. I love to try everything that interests me.
I love travelling, most of us do...right? But I only love those travels that are hassle free, I know, I know I am asking for too much, but fortunately, I hardly faced any such and so I look forward for the same sweet travels.
I love to be pampered, adored and liked...after all, who doesn't? I demand attention, yes I do...not from every other person but from my loved ones, I want them to make me as their most important priority,...fortunately my family & extended family does that. Thank God I am blessed :)
I enjoy humorous, intelligent & knowledgeable conversations and I detest being with fake people, hypocrites, and mean people.
I love risking if I believe thats gonna be worth my effort, no matter how hard it is. I often go by my gut feeling rather than taking ten different opinions from ten different people.

I guess I have bragged enough about me :))

In this page, you will see everything like..some opinions, some experiences, some trails, some tips, some drama, & some random lines of mine!!!

Indian Fashion @ Cannes

How many of you are ardent fashion followers, I know every woman loves fashion but how many keep an eye on the trend and fashion updates? Cannes film festival in France has been one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world bringing in all film fraternity across the globe. Stars & Fashion go hand in hand and so we get to see some hottest couture in there.  Cannes has not only been the center stage for world films but also world couture.
Like every year, this year also Aishwarya is going to be at Cannes along with her father in law Amitabh Bachan, her rival Sonam Kapoor, the lovely Vidya Balan( jury member), sexy Mallika Sherawat and Frieda Pinto. Just as every time, this time too the debates have began long time back about whoz wearing what and whoz going to win the fashion battle.
Vidya as usual chose her trusted ace designer Sabyasachi for all of her appearances, Sonam had mixed choices along with her favourite Anamika Khanna, Frieda usually has gone for western designer dress, Mallika too had gone for the same.
Surprisingly Amitabh Bachan also chose to be a bit more into fashion with a stripy coat and glittering black suit at the Great Gatsby premiere. I like the stripy one better!

Aishwarya is yet to arrive on the red carpet. So far its only the battle between Sonam, Vidya, Frieda & Mallika. Frieda & Mallika have not scored big as their fashion choices weren't too flattering or experimental.

Whereas the fashionista Sonam did try some bold ways, one of which is a Anamika Khanna's saree with a long jacket along with a over sized nose ring. I personally wasn't impressed with that over sized nose ring although many applauded her bold style. I thought make up could have been far far better as the natural complexion of hers seems to be no match. It is clearly visible in that close up shot.

The other appearance of hers is the barbie doll attire with Elie Saab dress and a glittered clutch was a win win. Again I opine she should have chosen some pretty hair accessory along with it to make more appealing. The hair looks too simple.

The previous appearance of hers which was a huemn styled outfit along with funky accessory by suhani pettie which was really perfect for her sleek figure, the ensemble was really fresh and rocking.

Next she tries out this Shehla khans's lehenga and some diamond to top it. To me it appears like the designer has drawn huge inspiration from the Alexander McQueen label. But for Indian style, it seems like not working. Not too bad but not great as well.
The other appearance of this young fashionista is in a floral Dolce & Gabbana dress. Which is a hit obviously given the spring/summer season around the world. The hair style she chose seems too simple for such dramatic dress...she could have added a bit more glam/floral hair accessories to complete the look. But in spite of all she looks pretty!

Vidya goes ethnic, classy and elegant as her usual self. The first appearance of hers was a red lehenga with a clean and simple hair do along with a traditional bindi. This was simply neat and too decent. That was sooo Vidya style. Well, who can say no to this Indian beauty. Tweets say that the westerners were in awe of Vidya's ethnic ensembles, they opine her outfits are fresh and unique as they so much used to see same old western gowns.

Second was a saree of classic shades and a kerala traditional style saree along with brown embroidered blouse, the hairdo and make up are kept simple which is again very very desi.
Thrid appearance seemed to be weird because the dupatta over the head ruined the look, she looked like a vintage princess which seemed out of place and the colours chosen also didn't seem much different from her saree.

For the next appearance Vidya chose a saree and ofcourse simple hair do which suits her much. For many this simple hairdos work far better than twists n curls. I am so happy that Sabyasachi has chose not to flaunt any skin or curves with his designs and kept it very decent, dignified and elegant. Moreover all her ensembles are very Indian, be it the choice of textile or embroidered work or the jewellery. She is like on a mission to represent the country's prestigious artisans.
For this attire, the nose ring was an added attraction..while many disliked the nathi, I felt its quite quintessential part of our vintage attires and works well on her. My only complain was that sapphire neck piece which kinda ruined the colour combo..the pop of blue seemed out of place.
Yet to see Aishwarya's appearance. Of course she has come a long way and learned it in a tougher way getting many fashion faux passes from the fashion police for some of her bizzarre appearances. And last time she carried all her baby weight to the festival with poise and grace. This time it may be her baby herself. Hopefully she doesn't disappoint this time.

'Crystal' Clear

Women & Jewels are inseparables as we all know. The love for the bling can never fade.
While the price of Gold has been touching the skies, lots of women started looking for alternative metals that can be as good as Gold. Shiny stone studded items can replace yellow metal and still can be most trendy.
One among such shiny stones are crystals and especially well cut and refined crystals from ace jewel makers like Swarovski.
Swarovski was found by Daniel Swarovski in Austria. Their precious crystals definitely have the luster and luxury too.
And one of my favourites accessories too. For those who like to keep it simple, modern, and inexpensive, Swarovski is a very good option. Posting few favourites picks.

Ditch the monotonous look and embrace some trend ladies :))

Brats of Tinsel Town

Hi Folks,

Its been almost a month that I have come back to this space. I have made some changes and intend to add more features too. Hope it will be like by you all.
Coming sunday is Mother's day, I wish my dearest Mom and mom-like ladies in my life a very very happy Mothers' day; Thank you for being the strength of my life :)
Karnataka has chosen Congress over other parties...I am not sure if this party would shape the state's future in a positive way but hope & wish they clean up Bangalore's garbage n bring back the 'garden city' tag.

Post of the day is a simple lighting experiment with a flower vase...have a look
*********************************************************************
Tinsel town is the most happening place, as well all know the clan of the tinsel town have a larger than life portfolios in an outsiders' perception. These matinee idols are almost worshiped as demi-gods in our country. This status may be craved by many but works only for few and they can be called truly lucky. I can't agree when they say it comes only out of hard work. There are many people who work harder, better, nicer yet may not be so lucky and fortunate to attain that status. Those few lucky chaps who have attained such status have to maintain that with an appropriate public image although it is not always easy to control emotions.
The 1st generation demi-gods were not arrogant as today's lot. They were pretty aware of their roots. As we know the concept of hierarchy is much seen in films & politics. While the younger lot easily inherit the fame & name, not all of them inherit the positive image that was carefully guarded for ages.
Just as in the case of Ttown's hero Charan, his rude behaviour in public has been getting some harshest of responses in the social media. He might have inherited his dad's heroic qualities on the screen but off the screen he seemed to be lacking basic civic sense. Holding a status as such, small time emotions shouldn't trigger to get into street fights and silly arguments. Having hottest wheels in the town is not an achievement but making sure it doesn't run over people is most important. And just because he has one of the best cars it doesn't mean public have to make a way to his wheels. The entire episode seems so sleazy on his part. He should and could have behaved in a decent way if things were really wrong on the other side. A traffic police patrol will be just a call away for his status, however he stooped down to behave like any other political goon. Looks like hez in a hangover of filmy scene or got into the political mode..., but hez supposed to be doing other way round in films..may be hez too fired up with the antagonist's character and got into the skin. One has to wait and see what this fiery chap's modest daddy is gonna say...may be he would rule it out as a political conspiracy as he soaked it all now or may be he would unapologetically support his haughty son's domineer. Clean up your image macho otherwise you are sure to lose some 'logical' fans who may not come to your rescue because its quite evident that you were too narcissistic in there.

This is not the first time Ttown witnessed a bratty youngster's fiery public behaviour. Recently in a movie controversy, a community protested at a bigwig's home and some of them were harshly bashed up by the security on a so called 'hero - Vishnu's'(atleast he himself believes so if not the audience)orders. Justifying his mean acts, he had delivered some emotional dialogues about the safety and security of his family much better than in movies. Also gone ahead and warned just as they overdo in movies. The whole saga there wasn't as bad as he projected it to be, but his drama seemed overboard to the onlookers. Dude, better perform that on the screen,it may earn some revenue, but not in public coz it all looked like a cooked up drama.
There were many other small time heroes who have made bigger & better dramas in public and with police but they couldn't make it as big as Charan with respect to the popularity. One Mr.Charan should have realized what it takes to spoil a hard earned name with one nasty incident. The offscreen persona is also important to build an image these days....what you are outside is watched, commented, analysed and criticized. Wish these guys take some lessons from Ktown's hero Ajith Kumar in regards to the public behaviour or the Superstar Rajinikanth.

Looks like he need some serious pacifying lessons...time to rope in a spiritual swamiji :P

Cheers
